Lincombe Manor Retirement Village was delighted to present a cheque for more than £200 to Age UK Torbay following the popular Spring Fair fundraising event held within the Grade II listed manor house.

Cheque presentation

Held on a sunny day in April the magnificent location of the village was showed off at its best and featured a range of stalls and a raffle, with proceeds being donated to Age UK Torbay.

Nikki Dodd, the Age UK Torbay Ambassador said: “We are absolutely delighted that Lincombe Manor raised over £200. It was a lovely day and we particularly enjoyed the Bric-a-brac stall, which had some great finds, kindly donated by residents. The plant stall was also very popular, with thoughts turning to gardening in the warm sunshine.”

Nikki continued: “Age UK Torbay is committed to helping older people enjoy later life in Torbay. The funds raised will go towards helping us tackle loneliness and isolation amongst older people in our community, via our befriending and careline services. We also hold various social events throughout the year that enable older people to get together, have fun, enjoy company and make friends. A cup of tea, a chat and laughter with a friendly face and a listening ear can make such a difference to older people.”
