Torquay is the principal town of the stunning English Riviera which also includes Paignton & Brixham. The English Riviera is a resort in the truest sense of the word, attracting people of all ages and interests. Undergoing a water front regeneration and a number of new attractions, Torquay has something for everyone.

It was the Victorians who first used the English Riviera name to describe their favourite resort and their legacy remains to this day with sparkling white buildings perched on the verdant hilltops, beautiful gardens around the seafront and elegant Victorian façades along the main streets. Torquay’s famous seven hills provide the backdrop to a waterfront scene that matches anything you’ll find on the French Riviera.

Stunning panoramic views along 22 miles of coastline…

Stunning views are to be seen just about every where across Torbay, out over the English Channel, and from certain vantage points along the 40 miles of Lyme Bay to Portland Bill or inland towards the Tors of Dartmoor.

Torquay is an ideal base from which to explore Dartmouth, Totnes, Exeter and Plymouth, all of which are only a few miles away.

Torquay’s waterfront is the focus of life in the town. Here you’ll find the palm-lined promenade, seafront gardens, a lively harbour and an international marina a stones throw from bustling shops and restaurants. The new Living Coasts attraction adds to the variety of the new waterfront and the illuminated bridge is a great backdrop to a relaxing evening drink. Yet within minutes of Torquay town centre there are beautiful beaches easily accessible by foot, road or sea.
